You're in the Army Now

My son Geoff begins 32 days of basic training at Fort Lewis today. He's a little apprehensive about it, but I am certain he will do just fine.

Good Luck Son!

Head games, Geoff. It's all about the head games and staying strong where it counts - in your head.

Of course - by the time he reads this he'll have figured this out. If he doesn't already know it.

Hey, pass along my congrats!

I never did Basic, but I did ROTC Field Training. I'd agree with Brian. I'd add one thing - don't slip into the mental rut of just "toughing it out, and surviving". I did that a few times earlier in life, including Field Training, and it meant that I underperformed. Try to wake up each day and decide not just to muddle through, but to conquer!
